Undergraduate Research Opportunities

CSEP Programs (Scientific Communication, Professional Development, Graduate School Preparation, and Community Building)

  • Beckman Scholars Program
    • Two scholars are selected annually to participate in a 15-month program at UCSB, conducting independent research projects over two full-time summer terms and one part-time academic year. 
  •  EUREKA! Scholars Program
    • A summer research program for first-year UCSB undergraduates to conduct research in a campus laboratory under the mentorship of a graduate and/ or a postdoctoral researcher. 
  • MARC Scholars Program
    • A two-year research training program that prepares undergraduates from under-represented groups in biomedical sciences for Ph.D or M.D/Ph.D and research careers. 
  •  SIMS Scholars Program 
    • A two-week academic preparation and research training program designed for incoming first-year UCSB undergraduates in STEM fields who are enrolling directly from high school in the fall quarter.
  • UC LEADS 
    • Numerous upper-division UCSB undergraduates majoring in STEM fields who demonstrate leadership and academic excellence are selected to participate in a 24-month program focused on scientific research and graduate school preparation under the guidance of individual Faculty Mentors. Assistant Director of Outreach: summerprogram@graddiv.ucsb.edu
