Summer Fellowships are now open!

We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the WiSE Summer Fellowships! These awards are intended to support a top UCSB STEM graduate student from an underrepresented background affiliated with Womxn in Science & Engineering (WiSE) or an affiliated campus organization at UCSB. Questions may be directed to john.lofthus@ucsb.edu.

Available Fellowships:

Decolvenaere Research Accelerator Award (x2) – The Decolvenaere Research Accelerator Award is intended to support a top UCSB STEM graduate student from an underrepresented background affiliated with Womxn in Science & Engineering (WiSE) or an affiliated campus organization at UCSB.
Helen Hansma Research Accelerator Award(x5) – Supports 5 talented grad students conducting kelp / seagrass / climate change research with full summer funding. These fellowships will provide $10K in funding per award.
BD Biosciences Research Accelerator Award (x2) – There is a preference for graduate students who are helping to develop novel technologies and techniques in the fields of biological engineering and quantitative biosciences, with a special emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches to cellular and molecular analysis.

Volunteer at the Hollister Elementary School Science Night

We’re looking for volunteers to help us put on some science demos at the Hollister Elementary School Science Night on Thursday, March 6th, 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This night is always one of the student’s highlights of the year!
